Imagine Nick Drake doing Mongolian overtone singing (the single accompanying the album release is Northern Sky) and you arrive at one of the weirdly beautiful and intimate places Make Amends takes you. The album grew into a mature alt-folk album, bathing in the unique Equinox sound, blending various styles into a harmonious journey. The many subtle layers, surprising plot twists and multitude of instruments take you to unexpected sonic places. His sincere and heart warming poetry in English, Dutch and Spanish, is often funny and serious within the same line. Whether dealing with life´s little speed bumps or with the big ones (like the suicide of a loved-one) the humor is never far away. And in this darkness, the light is never far away either.
